Your Options on the Budget Car Market

We get it – shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars on a car that you may or may not drive 10 years down the line may not seem like the wisest decision. You are the kind of guy or girl that wants to get the most out of their money. You don’t fall for the schemes of car dealers and you always look for the best deal wherever it is. If that describes you, this article is for you!

Today we are going to look into the best vehicles on a budget. These may not be the cheapest alternatives out there, but they are definitely among the most reliable. Plus, you can get them cheaper if you look out of state. There are plenty of auto transport companies that will gladly ship the car for you if you decide to buy it. Let’s take a look at the budget models!

Straight Out of Germany

We will start this list with one of our favorite picks – the Volkswagen Golf. Did you know that this car replaced the best-selling VW Beetle in the 70s? It went to become the next best-selling VW and people embraced it as an awesome car. There are even conventions around this sole model.

The truth is that this car is a rather capable hatchback, that will serve you well for years to come. It is famous for being cheap to repair and quite reliable at that. Plus with the awesome fuel efficiency it scores and the possibility to get it as an EV version the bills are going to come down for sure.

The Budget Car That Doesn’t Look The Part

If you are looking for a car that doesn’t look like it is a budget one, then Mazda 3 is absolutely the best pick. Not only does it remind me of Tesla’s recent models, but it is actually quite the capable beast. Mazda has been winning awards left and right for their picks in the budget and midrange markets. I am sure this is not without reason.

Truth be told, the only drawback of Mazda 3 is that it is rather compact and may not be suitable for a family. But after all, if that is what you are looking for, most of the budget options won’t fit you that well anyway.

The American Pick

If you want to stick to choices that are coming straight out of this side of the ocean, then Chevrolet Cruze should make your shortlist. While it doesn’t shine particularly bright in any aspect, it is actually quite well-rounded for an American car.

Firstly, it is fuel efficient, especially if you do not go out of your way to force it too much. Secondly, it has rather pleasant aesthetics that may not be super classy or anything, but are definitely one standard deviation above average.

There are several honorable mentions, like Toyota Prius, Honda Fit and Hyundai Sonata, but we wanted our list to be at least a little bit diverse. Otherwise, we could fill it to the top with Japanese or South Korean cars and call it a day, right?
